National Home Security Month – October 2019

We are all concerned with the security of those things that we hold dear, from our family, pets, home and vehicles to our business premises. And, we all know that with the pressures of everyday life, security is often overlooked. Sometimes, its not until the worst happens that we finally get round to ensuring we do all we can to make sure it doesn’t happen again .

October is National Home Security Month and it has been organised to raise awareness of the importance of home security so you can be safe in the the knowledge that your home, family and belongings are protected. But all of the advice and guidance can easily be taken on by business owners looking to secure their premises, staff and stock.

The Month started with information on busting common myths about Security. Did you know that figures collated by the Co-op state that 28% of adults take no security precautions at home leaving their possessions and loved ones vulnerable. It’s important to take security seriously. The biggest myth in intrusion is thinking ‘burglary only happens to other people’.

This week concentrates on Beat the burglar which continues to be a serious problem across the UK. Fortunately, it has never been easier to fight back against the threat of intruders. It has been found that cameras located both indoors and outside are known to the the most effective deterrent against intrusion and thanks to advances in technology they’re great value. We are pleased to offer great systems that can meet all requirements, from residential properties to small. medium and large business. Systems start from just £499 with our professional NSI NACOSS Gold installation.

Keep an eye on our website for more information as we go through the rest of the month.

Contact us to come out and undertake a free, no obligation audit of your home or business property. Call the team on 024 7644 6960 or email info@ipssltd.co.uk.

Taking on a Warwick Summer Intern 2019

I came to I P Security Systems Ltd as a Marketing Intern through Warwick Summer Internships.

Prior to this, I P Security Systems’ internship description stood out to me on how detailed and in-depth it was. After attending my interview, I immediately knew that I would feel comfortable. On the first day and throughout my whole time here that did not change. Shaz, Pete and Andy have been extremely supportive, welcoming and even kept me on for the rest of summer following my internship ending.

Within the first week, they sent me on a 2-day marketing course where I learnt many helpful skills which guided my time with them. From this, we made many changes. The main change being the company name from IPSS Systems Integrators to I P Security Systems. I have performed benchmarking, competitor analyses, and market research. Increased the website SEO, wrote marketing copy, created newsletters, blog posts, infographics, business cards, and other advertisements. I have also raised their social media presence and created a 12-month marketing calendar.

On top of everything, one of the most fulfilling parts of my internship is seeing my marketing efforts bring in new business and raise awareness of I P Security Systems.

I am extremely grateful for the skills I have learnt being part of I P Security Systems. They have massively added to my portfolio of experience and I have learnt many needed skills.

I will always be grateful for this position,

5 Simple Ways to Keep Your Home Safe Whilst on Holiday

Install timers on your electrics

Putting your lights, radios and even TV on a timer can give the illusion that your property hasn’t been left unattended. Be sure to alter the timers to vary when your appliances go on. If someone is watching the neighbourhood, they will notice a pattern of everything going on and off at the same time and get suspicious. Some timers can be altered using your smartphone.

Beware of social media

Capturing your holiday and putting it on social media is a great way to preserve memories and give your friends holiday envy. Although, this is a massive tell-tale sign that you have left your property unattended. Try saving the images and posting them when you are back home.

Ensure everywhere is locked

This may seem obvious but ensuring that all windows, doors, gates and outbuildings are locked will stop anyone entering your property without force. This can be enough to put some criminals off as it means they won’t have to leave evidence of their entry.

Invest in electronic security

There is evidence which shows that CCTV and house alarms act as a deterrent for burglars. Although you can’t do much if this happens whilst you are away, your alarm can sound and alert the police to come to the property and the CCTV can provide the needed evidence.

Ask a neighbour to check on the house or hire a house sitter

Asking someone to put the bins out or collect the mail from underneath the mailbox every couple of days can help to keep your property appearing a lived in as possible. Even asking a friend or family member to house sit for you can give the extra peace of mind that someone is there and looking after your home.

Sponsor Updates!

We sponsor the local Coventry under 15’s football team, Athletic United. Gaz Hardwick, the Athletic United manager, let us know how well they have been getting on this season.

“Athletic United have been very fortunate to have I P Security Systems Ltd as our kit sponsor for the last 3 seasons. During this successful period, we have won the A league twice and the Bedworth Nursing Cup as well as the League Cup. With the continued sponsorship, we look as impressive on the pitch as we do results wise. Local businesses supporting local grassroots football, a perfect combination. Thank you IPSS!”

Being able to help young boys to continue on their football journey and keep active is what I P Security Systems strive to do and would recommend sponsoring a team to any other local business. Not only do I P Security Systems sponsor Athletic United, but we also sponsor the Coventry Sphinx first team!

Charity Walk total just in

On Saturday 30 March, IPSS worked in conjunction with Coventry Sphinx Football Club, Coventry Sphinx Sports and Social Club and Occasional Occasions venue dressing to host a Sponsored Charity Walk at the Sphinx Drive site. We have just had the last amount of sponsorship money submitted and we are pleased to confirm the grand amount of £1920 has been raised for this very worthwhile charity.

We would like to thank all of the people who took part and their very generous sponsors. Thanks also go to Joanne Bull of Occasional Occasions who provided the Afternoon Tea which was very well received by all of those who took part.

Miles for Money a huge success

This weekend, IPSS were pleased to work in partnership with a local football club to host a Charity Walk to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. A route of 0.5 miles was marked out around the site of Coventry Sphinx Football Club on Sphinx Drive and participants were invited to walk. jog or run around the route as many times as they liked and collect sponsorship for their efforts. All involved were then invited for afternoon tea in the clubhouse followed by a chance to watch the Coventry Sphinx First Team play.

Those attending the football game were given free entry in return for a contribution to the Charity. Attendees have been incredible generous and so far the collection on the day has already raised over £500. We are also due donations from sponsorship which should push the total raised to over £1000.
